PENTAGON: Stalled Space Design Project

For this project, I chose a stalled space and had to use it for a purpose that would benefit the community. As an art lover, I noticed the lack of art exhibition spaces within Glasgow City Centre.

I took most of the inspiration for the shapes and patters within the space from textures and objects I found within my stalled space.

The space was big and wide so I started designing my own exhibition area within my derelict building.

I then had to adapt my design to be able to function and fit within the prestigious art festival, Venice Biennale.  I adapted my design by creating sun roofs and open entrances so people can walk through as they please with a healthy human flow. I also decided to create posters for the front in English and Italian and named my creation "Pentagon".
